Expense Tracker by CodeWolf (“the App”) is a personal expense management application designed for offline use. The App also offers optional on-device artificial intelligence features powered by Google's Gemma language model.

This Privacy Policy explains how user information is handled when using the App.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Data Collection Overview

The App is designed to function primarily offline.

The developer does not collect, store, or transmit personal financial data entered into the App.

However, certain limited data may be automatically collected by third-party services used within the App, as described below.

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored only on the user's device:

• Name entered during initial setup
• Expense and income entries
• Budgets and savings goals
• Notes created within the App
• App lock password (if enabled)
• Encrypted backup files created by the user

This data:

• Is not transmitted to the developer
• Is not uploaded to any server
• Remains on the device unless the user manually exports a backup

Users are fully responsible for safeguarding their device and backups.

4. On-Device Artificial Intelligence

The App offers optional on-device artificial intelligence (AI) features powered by Google's Gemma language model.

The AI model is downloaded only after the user chooses to install it and accepts the applicable terms.

When using the downloaded on-device AI model:

• AI processing occurs entirely on the user's device.
• Transaction data, prompts, and generated responses are not transmitted to CodeWolf Apps or Google for AI processing.
• The developer does not receive or store AI prompts, generated responses, or financial information processed by the on-device model.

Users are responsible for reviewing AI-generated suggestions before relying on them. AI-generated content may be inaccurate or incomplete.

The Gemma model is provided under the Gemma Terms of Use and the Gemma Prohibited Use Policy published by Google.

5. Advertising and Device Identifiers

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.

AdMob may automatically collect certain information, including:

• Device identifiers (such as Advertising ID)
• App interaction data
• Basic diagnostic information

This data may be used for:

• Ad delivery
• Ad performance measurement
• Improving advertising relevance

This information is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy .

The developer does not control how Google collects or processes this data.

Users may manage advertising preferences through their device settings.

6. Data Encryption and Security

All data remains stored locally on the device.

Backup files can be optionally protected with AES-256 encryption.

Data transmitted for advertising purposes is encrypted in transit by the advertising SDK.

While reasonable security practices are implemented, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

7. No Financial Transactions

The App does not:

• Process payments
• Connect to banks or financial institutions
• Support UPI, card payments, or money transfers
• Store banking credentials

All financial entries are manually entered by the user for tracking purposes only.

8. Data Deletion

Because all user data is stored locally:

• Users may delete all app data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the App
• Exported backups must be manually deleted by the user

The developer does not retain copies of user data.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not specifically directed toward children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
